WestTrans was allocated £1.84m for 2006-07 by Transport
for London as part of the capital’s Borough Spending Plan
award. Additional funding was provided throughout the year for
a number of schemes, particularly for Freight related projects.
BUS PRIORITY
- Wembley - Park Royal Bus Priority Schemes
A series of bus priority works along the Wembley – Park
Royal Corridor, including new bus lanes, improvements to existing
bus lanes and new bus stops along the route.
TOWN CENTRES
Funding was provided for a modelling study
for the town centre, which examined traffic management options,
and took into account a number of planned major developments
in the town centre and transport interchange improvements.
This project centred on the introduction
of new CCTV in the town centre.

Street improvements works were completed
on the High Road in the town centre, and these included footway
resurfacing, new and improved pedestrian crossings, new and upgraded
street furniture and de-cluttering signs and road markings.
STREETS FOR PEOPLE

This scheme consisted of streetscape improvements to Old Oak Common
Lane, at the end of Erconwald Street. The streetscape was in need
of upgrading, particularly as paving improvements were made nearby
in 2004-05 at the Old Oak Common Lane/Du Cane Road junction Street.
The footway was repaved, kerbs were realigned, cycle stands and
benches installed, trees and plating introduced and the road was
resurfaced.
