Through the Local Implementation Plan process,
Transport for London awarded WestTrans £1.46m for the development
of the schemes shown below. This sum has been supplemented with
additional funding from TfL for Travel Planning and for Freight
related projects.
STATION ACCESS
- Implementation of Ruislip Station improvements
- Completion of designs for Hanwell, Castle Bar Park Station
and Eastcote Station improvements (with implementation due to
start this financial year)
- Funding for West London Station Access Coordinator
- Development for Step 1 and Step 2 schemes for several stations
in West London
LOCAL AREA ACCESSIBILITY
- Grand Union Canal Access Improvements
Improvements are being made to replace stepped canal access points
in West London with DDA compliant ramps.
WALKING
- Grand Union Canal Towpath Upgrade
The Grand Union Canal is becoming an increasingly popular route
for walkers, cyclists, joggers and anglers. Improvements have recently
been made to the towpaths along several sections of the canal in
West London. This work will supplement improvements that have already
been made to improve the accessibility, safety and attractiveness
of the canal towpath.
