Freight Steering Group
WestTrans are delighted to have developed a Freight Strategy for West London and are especially grateful for the assistance from businesses and local organizations.
The purpose of a the Freight Strategy is to offer a collection of mitigation and management initiatives which aim to reduce the overall levels of freight traffic and improve the efficiency of freight activity taking place across the subregion. The combination of these will provide positive outcomes to key objectives:
- Increase business efficiency
- Improve air quality
- Improve road safety
- Reduce congestion
- Support economic growth
- Improve vehicle energy efficiency
WestTrans are now working hard to deliver the initiatives agreed upon by the stakeholders - The full list is available in the Freight Strategy.
From the Freight Strategy, the Freight Steering Group has formed, comprising key stakeholders in freight across the subregion. The group's purpose is to deliver the outcomes above and ensure efficient, sustainable levels of freight.
