San Sebastian - WestTrans 2016 Study Trip
The City Council of San Sebastian for many years have been at the forefront of new transport projects from 100% electric busses to public cycle hire schemes with electric bicycles. With the pressure on London to meet its air quality targets, we must look at other cities to see how these projects develop and how, if possible, we can replicate them in West London.
Bicycle Parking Project
We've inspected 71 developments with planning conditions to provide a number of bicycle parking spaces - all the sites were assessed against the West London Cycle Parking Guidance.The project has highlighted a number of shocking issues from the complete absence of cycle parking to a general lack of understanding of the needs of cyclists. The report contains a list of recommendations that we strongly suggest are adopted by all concerned.

West London Cycle Parking Standards
Having somewhere to safely store a bicycle is the first step to cycling! This guidance sets out exactly how cycle parking should be designed and built to ensure those who wish to keep a bicycle can.We hope this guidace will be adopted by local authorities and become the cycle parking bible for London.
We are recruiting a West London Student Cycling Champion
We are now recruiting a full time West London Student Cycling Champion to lead an innovative pilot project to extend our active travel programme with students across West London. We welcome all applications as well as opportunities for secondments for this fixed term 16 month contract, deadline March 29th 2016.

Study Trip 2015: City of Stockholm
This October, WestTrans were hosted by the Traffic Administration and the Environment and Health Administration of the City of Stockholm in October to carry out research via a study trip. The aim of the trip was to investigate the real world application of commercial urban consolidation centres. This included site visits to micro consolidation centres in the inner city and the much renowned Royal Sea Port Logistics Centre. 
Freight Seminar exceeds expectations
WestTrans, as the regional lead for Act TravelWise, recently hosted a freight seminar at TfL's Palestra in Central London. The seminar was called in response to calls from forum members to better understand methods and strategies to manage urban freight movements in order to improve local air quality, reduce congestion and make our streets safer.
West London Freight Strategy Development Workshop a success!
The second of our Freight Strategy Workshop sessions took place last week and was well attended by 36 delegates from industry, the public sector  and non governmental organisations.

WestTrans successfully delivered an innovative and valuable programme of activity in 2014/15 and has been proactively developing new areas of work and securing external sources of funding.
London By Cycle Air Quality Event days across West London this Autumn
It's the Autumn term and in West London, WestTrans is supported by London by Cycle and the Mayor of London's Air Quality fund  to deliver a series of two event days with activities aimed at getting aged 16%plus% students cycling more.
